Sow between March and September to produce a large bulk of green matter as well as fixing nitrogen. Improves the fertility and texture of the soil and suppresses weeds.

Turn-in in spring before growing a leafy crop with high nitrogen requirement. Sow in drills, spacing 5cm apart with 15cm between rows, or broadcast.A spring sowing can provide a good supply of nitrogen for your winter brassicas, dug in before they are planted out.

Hardy annual, fits legume in rotation.
