Please Note : we can only deliver plants within the island of Ireland
Because we’re constantly adding small quantities of plants to our catalogue, and because other varieties are continually selling out, we’ve found it very difficult to keep our website up to date. We hope that our new system will let customers know exactly what we have in stock at any given time, and what it will cost to get it to them.
It’s a way of putting you in touch with us, so that we can know what plants and seeds interest you. Once we receive your enquiry we’ll get back to you with availability and shipping information.
Yes! We now sell some of our products online. If any product does not have an "add to cart" option simply contact us about purchasing it offline.
Not at all. We will send you information regarding your enquiry and the rest is up to you.
That’s no problem. Just tell us which items you want and we’ll only bill you for them. If this means that the shipping costs are less than originally quoted, we’ll revise our invoice when we send it.
Once we receive your payment we’ll immediately assemble your purchase for shipping. In the case of plants, we don’t like to send them out on Fridays because they won’t be delivered until the following week. In the case of seeds, we try to send them out within two days of receiving your order, though at the height of the season it may take a few extra days.
Unfortunately, a few of our plants are simply too large to be collected by our courier. These are primarily trees, of course, and we’ll tell you that when we respond to your enquiry.
Very simply, at cost. We use Fastway couriers who charge us (and you) €15.00 per package. Because plants come in all sizes, we calculate how many packages are needed to fill your order – we can usually get four to six plants in a package – and charge you the amount Fastway charges us.
An Introduction to our Business
We define an ‘unusual plant’ simply as one that is not commonly offered by Garden Centres in Ireland. Many of these are older, classic varieties (often propagated here at the nursery) which have been forgotten in the frenzy to come up with something ‘new’. Obviously, we are limited by what is currently available, but we are happy to search for plants not in our catalogue.
We also stock one of the most extensive ranges of Rhododendrons and Azaleas in Ireland, and will be expanding this further in the future.
A few comments about our plant classifications. We always try to give both the botanical family and the country of origin, because we feel that these are important in selecting plants to grow in any particular situation. We have used the ‘star’ hardiness rating scale:
* Half hardy – plant can withstand temperatures to 0° C.
* * Frost hardy – plant can withstand temperatures to -5° C.
* * * Fully hardy – plant can withstand temperatures to -15°C.
Our seeds are in all cases free from chemical treatment and in most cases certified organically grown. They are carefully chosen varieties offering disease resistance, strength, uniformity, and above all, great taste.
Our plants are normally shipped via Fastway couriers, a reliable and efficient method of getting them to you within a day or two. Our seeds are generally sent by An Post.
We would very much like to hear from you, particularly if you have any suggestions as to how we might improve our service.
