A delicious winter vegetable with a celery flavour. The large, round root has crisp, white flesh for eating raw in salads, sliced or grated. Sow February-March in modules (it does not like bare root transplanting) and in May plant out 30cm apart in soil rich in organic matter. Keep soil well watered and mulch well. Celeriac will tolerate light shade if soil is kept moist in dry weather and it needs a long, unchecked growing season. A high qulity celeriac resistant to hollowness and Septoria tolerant.
